Female genital sores refer to bumps and lesions that appear in or around the vagina or vulva. They can be caused by various factors, including an infected scratch, a sexually transmitted infection (STI), or a chronic skin condition. The symptoms of female genital sores can range from itchiness, pain, tenderness, and discharge to no symptoms at all.

This in-clinic visit will usually include a physical exam and possible STI testing depending on symptoms. Some conditions like genital warts can be treated in the clinic by a provider.
Treatment options for genital warts include medications and surgical procedures depending on the severity and location of the warts. Your Tia provider will provide a perscription medication that can be applied at home. Your provider might recommend a referral for surgical procedures such as cryotherapy, electrocautery, and surgical excision may be recommended for internal warts or warts that do not respond to medication.
