What is a Heart Health Assessment?

A Heart Health Assessment is an in-person visit designed to give you a deeper understanding of your cardiovascular health and personal risk factors. Your provider will review your health history, lifestyle, and goals, perform a targeted cardiac exam, and determine which screenings may be right for you, including advanced blood work, an ECG, or specialized imaging. Together, you’ll use those insights to build a proactive plan for your long-term heart health.

Insurance and Pricing

Is this covered by insurance?

Yes! Tia will bill your insurance for your visit. Just like at any doctor’s office, you may be responsible for a co-pay or coinsurance, depending on your health plan.

Tia does not process labs or specimens directly, regardless of your in-network status. A third party (Quest, for example) will bill you directly for these services, which may not be covered by your insurance.

Who should book a Heart Health Assessment?

A Heart Health Assessment is for anyone who wants to better understand their cardiovascular risk and take a proactive approach to long-term heart health. It may be especially helpful if you:

  • Are over 45 or navigating perimenopause or menopause
  • Have PMOS(PCOS), hypertension, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, or an autoimmune condition
  • Have a family history of heart disease
  • Have experienced pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia
  • Have concerns about how chronic stress or a sedentary lifestyle may be affecting your heart health

Frequently asked questions about Heart Health Assessment

How is the Women's Longevity Assessment different than an Annual Exam?

Your Women’s Longevity Assessment goes beyond a routine annual exam. It takes a deeper look at your long-term health using advanced screening tools, genetic testing, and labs to assess heart, metabolic, inflammatory, and cognitive health. Together with your provider, you’ll build a personalized plan to help you stay healthier, longer.

Because this visit involves medical evaluation and care planning beyond standard preventive care, it’s not billed as a preventive annual exam and may be subject to a copay or deductible.

What kind of tests are involved?

Your provider will personalize your testing plan, which may include an in-office ECG, a referral for a Coronary Calcium Score (a specialized heart CT scan), and our advanced lab panel. This panel looks beyond basic numbers to assess inflammation, insulin resistance, and the size and number of cholesterol particles.

Will I get all of my results & plan in one visit?

You will leave your first assessment with clear next steps, which typically include orders for labs or other tests. You will then have a dedicated follow-up visit to review your results in detail with your provider and build your personalized, long-term health plan together.

Can you Tia refer me to a cardiologist if needed?

If your results suggest a need for more specialized care, your provider will refer you to a cardiologist. Thanks to our partnerships with leading health systems, we can connect our patients with some of the top cardiac specialists in the nation while remaining your home base for care after your specialist appointment.

What our patients say about Tia

Jessica O., Tia Patient
"I cannot tell you how much I truly valued my experience here at this clinic. From the minute I walked in, I felt safe, comfortable and welcomed. The exam room had so many amenities to make you feel at home, I have a hard time calling it a "exam room" - they had amazing robes to wear, drinks/snacks just in case, and even a little sitting area in the room. My nurse was the most incredible woman and held my hand throughout the exam...everything was just perfect. I highly recommend Tia to every woman who wants to have a better doctor experience. This is unlike anything I have experienced and will be recommending every woman I know to Tia!"
Stephanie S., Tia Patient
"It's always easy and I've never felt so taken care of in my life! I actually don't dread making appointments and I don't have to put on armor when I go see my doctor. It's a game changer!"
Katherine E. Tia Patient
"I can’t recommend Tia enough. As a woman who doesn’t like going to the doctor (white coat syndrome) and has been discounted and not listened to by doctors in the past, this experience is everything a doctors appt should be. I am so happy I am now a Tia patient and would highly recommend Tia to any female friend or family member that could benefit from the amazing staff and care here 💕"
Whitney K., Tia Patient
"I’ve never experienced such personalized, sensitive, thorough, and holistic women’s healthcare in my life. So grateful for this clinic!"
