Faces of Tia
Care for Women, Built by Women: Why Our Providers Choose Tia
Tia is unique. Not just for our members, who are seen as whole people, but for our providers who believe caring for women is crucial—no matter the political tide. Day in and day out, they see, support, and collaborate with their patients—and each other—to make our communities healthier. We wanted to know what drives them and why they love coming to work each day. Here’s what they had to say.
“I've been at Tia for three years, and I love it for so many reasons. As someone who has dedicated their career to women's health, there's truly no place I feel more at home. Every day, I have the opportunity to educate women about their bodies and learn from their experiences. I appreciate the variety of services we offer, and I'm incredibly lucky to work alongside such amazing women who are genuinely committed to improving women's health. It's truly empowering to be part of a team where women uplift each other. Our stellar leadership, which is mostly made up of nurse practitioners, is something I value deeply, especially as an NP myself. Nurses practice patient-centered and holistic care. This model of care naturally creates a collaborative environment that our patients seek out and one of the main reasons they choose Tia. I also believe this is why we have devoted providers who work and stay at Tia because they too feel safe and respected in the work place just as I do.”
- Alex Monzón, NP
“Before I came to work at Tia, I was in charge of high-risk primary care. Like in many practice settings, the sickest of the sick demanded the bulk of my attention and care, and everyone else had to fall by the wayside. At Tia, that all shifted. As a medical director, I still am responsible for the more complicated patients in the practice, but I’m also able to take the time for patients who have acne, who are just seeking wellness and health, and no matter what they’re looking for - we’re here to provide them with the most holistic, comprehensive care possible. I’m able to do this with a multidisciplinary team of passionate professionals that truly care about their patients and each other. It’s a real pleasure to come to work every day, and makes the challenges of this health care system feel more solvable.”
- Emily Lu, MD
“I joined Tia as a family nurse practitioner in 2021 with the opening of the Scottsdale clinic, full of hope that it would be the right fit for me. Little did I know just how much joy and professional satisfaction this journey would bring. Being part of a team of incredible individuals who work tirelessly to improve women’s health outcomes through a holistic, patient-centered approach has been deeply inspiring. The collaborative and supportive culture at Tia is truly unmatched, fostering continual learning and growth. It is an honor to execute the Tia care model and contribute to transforming the health care experience for women. I am grateful every day to be part of this mission.”
- Rebecca Reilly, FNP
“Hi, Chelsey Yang here! I’m a newer family nurse practitioner to Tia! I joined in July 2024, and have had a wonderful experience since becoming a member of the team. I have never worked in an environment which supports learning and laughter with other providers and staff members than here at Tia. I enter the facility and am smiling within a few minutes. The amount of joy and compassion the Tia staff members have for their patients is unparalleled. We work to support each patient’s needs as best we can, hoping that each person feels like their care plan is evidence-based and focused to support their specific needs and health goals. I am very lucky to work at Tia, and hope to continue for a long time.”

“6 years ago, I was walking down the subway stairs in Williamsburg and saw a sign that said “Your Vagina Deserves Better.” I thought YES, YOU’RE RIGHT and quickly found my way to Tia’s Instagram page. I saw a post about imagining a world where your acupuncturist and your gynecologist are under the same roof and quickly sent a DM expressing my excitement about their messaging and interest in getting involved with their mission. Not only was it clear to me that Tia was and continues to highlight the specific and often unheard needs of women, but it was one of the first clinics that truly spotlighted acupuncture as an integral part of the care philosophy. As an acupuncturist, I joined Tia because I saw an incredible and all too rare opportunity to collaborate with primary care and gyn providers to offer high quality, personalized and integrative care to our patients. In a country where healthcare, especially that of women and queer folks is disregarded, I am proud to work at a place whose mission is to place the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of their patients at the forefront.”
- Elana Weisberg, DAIM, LAc, Director of Acupuncture
“I’ve been with Tia since the very early days when we would all huddle together and dream up the vast possibilities of what our shared mission could accomplish. Before Tia, I found myself burnt out after working for a major healthcare corporation. I recall ending a long shift and my supervisor asked what my number of completed exams was. That was ultimately what these suffering patients were seen as: numbers. I felt like a helpless cog in the machine and struggled to find ways to make my work valuable and impact others. I repeatedly witnessed examples of women that had been failed by the healthcare system and had no idea how to navigate this on their own. It was a hard truth that I naively could not comprehend was possible. After just a year of working in the ER, I could not handle the injustices of seeing patients come to the emergency room to get treatment for things that should have been prevented or treated by their medical provider. All the women shared a common thread: they were terrified, lost and felt utterly alone. When I found Tia and learned of our mission it honestly felt daunting. I felt so disillusioned after all my experiences. It was hard to imagine that this would one day become a reality and that I would have the opportunity to work with these incredible individuals that were going to shape a new standard of care for women. Here we are today, supporting women everywhere on their healthcare journeys and changing lives. I work at Tia because I know our work is extremely valuable and I could not be prouder of the immense impact that we have made and continue to drive.”
