Virtual Care insurance and billing FAQs
We know healthcare billing can be confusing, but you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Get clear, straightforward answers about insurance coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and payment options for virtual care services offered at Tia.
Virtual Care Insurance
Patients must have in-network coverage with an accepted insurance plan to receive care in Connecticut (CT), Massachusetts (MA), or New Jersey (NJ).
At this time, Tia does not accept cash-pay or out-of-network patients in Connecticut (CT), Massachusetts (MA), or New Jersey (NJ).
Virtual Care Services Billing
Tia providers deliver your care through our trusted medical group partner, Cloud Health.
When we bill your insurance:
- Claims will be submitted under the group NPI 1528744935 for Massachusetts and Connecticut, and under NPI 1043995467 for New Jersey.
- Your claim will also include the NPI of the individual provider who delivered your care.
We recommend contacting your insurance provider for details on your specific coverage. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card, or check out our Guide for Talking to Insurance to Learn Your Benefits.
What You'll Pay for a Virtual Care Visit
Your appointment costs will depend on your specific insurance plan’s specialist copay or in-network deductible. Below are estimated rates for common telehealth visits if your deductible applies:
Medical Visits
- Initial Intake: $220
- Follow-up Visit: $180
Psychiatry Visits
- Initial Intake: $515
- Follow-up Visit: $395
These are estimates and may vary based on your plan and benefits.
Lab Work & Diagnostic Testing
Tia does not have its own lab to process tests. We partner with independent labs like Quest Diagnostics to help keep costs lower than hospital-based labs. Before your lab work:
- Check with your insurance provider to confirm Quest Diagnostics is in-network and whether your lab services are covered.
- You can contact Quest directly at (888) 445-5011 or email nationalbilling@questdiagnostics.com for cost estimates or billing questions.
If you prefer to use a different lab, your Tia provider can create a lab order for your preferred option.
