Joan Rhee

A daughter of Korean immigrants, Joan grew up in Connecticut learning the complexities and inequities of the American healthcare system through her parents' frustrations when navigating their care. She studied History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health at Yale University, where she focused her energies on providing and improving access to health education on and off campus, eventually serving as an educator and counselor through the Yale College Dean's Office to prevent sexual violence and work towards a culture of sexual ethics within the Yale community. Joan is a product manager at a healthcare technology company, where she founded the company's first employee resource group to provide community and support for women employees and now leads the employee resource group serving Asian employees. As a patient, Joan has been a huge supporter of Tia's holistic care model, and she is excited to further Tia's mission through the DEI Council.
