Dr. (Dj) Deepjot Singh is an established and highly skilled physician with over 20 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She grew up and went to high school in rural New Jersey, and received her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology at UCLA. She obtained her medical degree at Chicago Medical School with most of her rotations at Cook County Hospital which subsequently influenced her to apply and complete her residency at the Women's and Children's Hospital, USC-LA County Hospital. She furthered her education with an executive MBA at the USC Marshall School of Business which led her to understand the need for the intersection of leadership in various industries, communities, businesses, and medicine to truly understand how pervasive racism is in society. She has worked hard to educate systems on disparities and health equity and has received numerous awards for patient care throughout her career and serves as Chair, advisor, and board member to multiple start-ups, committees, businesses, and community action groups. Most recently, Dr. Singh is the Co-Physician lead for the Cherished Futures Collaborative pilot program with Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital. She has also been selected to serve as the ACOG Co-Chair for Patient Safety and Quality Improvement for the state of California beginning this year in October 2020. She was part of the ACOG 2019 Congressional Leadership Conference where her personal story and experiences with maternal death and morbidity were used to urge members of Congress to cosponsor the Mothers and Offspring Mortality and Morbidity Awareness Act (MOMMAs) and urged legislators to extend postpartum care coverage up to 1 year. She has a passion for advocacy in Equity, Education, and Communication to promote well-being by dismantling racism that exists in medicine and society. She currently works and lives in the South Bay with her husband and children and is very proud of her eldest daughter who just graduated from Howard University College of Medicine and started residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Chicago.
