What is a skin care appointment?
An acne, rash, or skin change visit at Tia can be facilitated in clinic or virtually and is conducted by an MD or nurse pracitioner.
When should you schedule a skin care appointment?
It is recommended to schedule an appointment to discuss skin changes if:
- Your symptoms are not responding to over the counter treatment.
- Your skin changes are associated with the menstrual cycle.
- Your symptoms are becoming bothersome or are worsening over time.
What to expect during a skin care appointment
Here’s what you can expect during a Tia dermatology appointment:
- A comprehensive assessment: Your provider will factor in your skin concerns, overall health, and well-being to create your personalized treatment plan.
- A customized Care Plan: Based on your assessment, your provider will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. This may include a combination of medications, lifestyle recommendations, holistic therapies like acupuncture, or other interventions aimed at optimizing your skin health.
- Follow-up care: Seeing changes in your skin can take time, and our team will be there every step of the way to make sure your Care Plan is working. After your appointment, we'll provide clear guidance on next steps. Whether it's booking a follow-up, adjusting your treatment plan, or providing ongoing support, we'll ensure you get the comprehensive care you deserve.
- Emotional support: Skin concerns can bring up a lot of feelings, and we're here to listen, provide support, and put you at ease. At Tia, care is collaborative. You’re always welcome to ask questions, express concerns, or discuss any care preferences with your provider.
Potential treatment plans for skin issues
Once your provider has conducted a thorough medical exam and reviewed your medical history associated with your skin issues, there are several treatment options they might recommend:
- Depending on your symptoms, your provider might recommend additional lab testing.
- Your provider might recommened keeping a symptom journal to track when, how often, and for how long your symptoms appear.
- Depending on symptoms and severity, ertain over the counter medication can be recommended or your provider will perscribe medication.
- If your provider suspects that your symptoms are more severe, you might recieve a referral to a dermatology specialist.
