Patient Billing Policy

At Tia, we strive to make healthcare billing as simple and transparent as possible. Please review the following policy regarding our billing practices:

Billing Process

Tia does not collect copays or costs at the time of your appointment. This allows time for your appointment information to be reviewed before it is submitted to insurance or billed to you. Once your appointment is ready to be billed, you will receive an emailed copy of your bill.

Review Period & Payment Timeline

  • You will have 30 days to review your bill and ask any questions to your Tia care team before payment is automatically processed.
  • During this period, you will receive weekly email reminders regarding your balance.
  • You can pay your bill at any time through the email link or your patient portal (https://member.asktia.com/r/appointment-billing-list).
  • After 30 days, your payment method on file will be automatically charged.
  • Declined payment methods will be retried until the balance is paid or if a patient reaches out to the care team with a new payment plan or new payment method.

Predictable Payments for Active Tia Members

Active Tia members benefit from Predictable Payments. If your patient balance is greater than $100, Predictable Payments allows patients to pay $100 every 30 days toward larger balances until their balance is paid in full, instead of being billed all at once. No matter the total amount you owe, you will only ever be billed a maximum of $100 per month until your balance is paid off. This method offers a clear, manageable way to handle medical expenses, allowing you to focus on what truly matters—your health.

Appointment Billing for Cancelled Members

  • Patients who have ended their Tia membership but still have past appointment balances will be sent their balance in full.
  • Appointment costs incurred during membership must be paid in full after membership has ended.

Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit or Debit Card
  • FSA/HSA (not accepted for membership payments)
  • Apple Pay

Cost Transparency & Estimates

In conjunction with the No Surprises Act, Tia’s care team is always available to provide cost estimates prior to appointments by patient request. Additionally, our estimated prices per service are available on our website for your reference.

Agreement to Automatic Payment Processing

By agreeing to the Patient Services Agreement prior to each appointment, you acknowledge and consent to having your payment method on file charged automatically 30 days after receiving your bill.
