The Tia Clinic Turns One

One year ago, we opened the first Tia Clinic doors in New York City — the “concept store” for a new distinctly female model of healthcare we’re building online and offline. One that is simple and convenient, compassionate and human-centered, personalized and preventive.

One year in, with our community of more than 2,500 Tia Members, we’ve set out to:

…Redefine female healthcare — not as a specialty or a body-part, but as a whole person’s mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

…Set a new standard for what healthcare with a soul feels like — for patients and doctors alike.

…Demonstrate how technology can be a bridge in service of, and not at the expense of personalized, patient-centered care.

…Prove the power of interdisciplinary, collaborative Care Teams that work together to manage a patient’s health across the care continuum, before, during and after they come in for care.

In one year, the Tia Clinic has had 5,000 patient visits, conducted 1,300 Well-Woman Exams, and sent 40,000 messages between patients and the Tia Care Team. Beyond the numbers, we’ve established Tia as a true medical home for females in NYC.

With a mission to raise the bar of quality female healthcare for all and not just a few, it’s serendipitous that our one year anniversary coincides with International Women’s Day — a day that celebrates the universality of the female experience, and also reminds us of the equality gaps between females and males, and amongst females. In honor of International Women’s Day and this milestone, we are celebrating by giving away 100 Tia Memberships and 100 comprehensive Tia Well-Woman Exams to females who need quality care, but can’t afford it — #WellWomanForAll.

We’ll be kicking off this #WellWomanForAll initiative with a free Day of Care at the Tia Clinic on International Women’s Day, Sunday, March 8th.

At Tia, we already waive membership fees for females facing financial hardships, but we know that the cost of services remains one of the biggest challenges for those who are uninsured and underinsured. With 1 in 5 millennial women uninsured, even essential benefits under the Affordable Care Act, like an annual Well-Woman Exam, remain out of reach for many.

To raise the bar of what quality female healthcare should be and sustainably enable access to that care for all (a tremendous effort, and a marathon and not a sprint), we’re committed, deeply, to moving the needle on quality and access in tandem, today and every other day at Tia.

Are you interested in a free Tia Membership and Well-Woman Exam? Here’s how it works:

• If you are a female over 18 years old without insurance (or have an insurance plan that Tia does not currently accept), sign up here. #WellWomanForAll memberships and appointments will be given away on a first come first basis. The first free appointments will start Sunday, March 8th, and continue on a monthly basis through the end of 2020.
• Once accepted, you will be notified by a member of the Tia Team with membership and appointment details for Sunday, March 8th or a future date that works with your schedule.
• At the Tia Clinic, all #WellWomanForAll patients will receive a comprehensive Tia Well-Woman Exam — a 40-minute visit that includes an annual physical, personalized “whole women’s health” evaluation, and, based on your age and other risk factors, a Pap, STI screening, Tia’s “Well-Woman” blood panel. Your appointment and blood work will be waived and covered 100% by Tia.
• Post-appointment, your Tia Care Team will send test results within 7–10 days, and facilitate any necessary follow-up care. *The cost of any future appointments will not be waived.
